Feller Power Cables introduces Anderson Power Saf-D-Grid Connector: Powering the Next Generation of Data Centre Infrastructure
Feller UK Ltd & Anderson Power Products Collaboration
The demands of modern data centres call for power solutions
that deliver more performance in less space. Through a strategic
collaboration, Feller UK Ltd is integrating the advanced Saf-D-Grid®
connector into its custom power cable assemblies tailored for data centre
infrastructure. From rack PDUs to server PSUs and high-density power
distribution units, this collaboration ensures that data centre operators have
access to high-power, safe, and space-optimised connectivity solutions.
Together, Feller’s expertise in bespoke power cable
manufacturing and Anderson Power Products’ next-generation connector technology
delivers a comprehensive solution that supports the evolving power demands of
data centres worldwide. This partnership enables more efficient power delivery
at higher voltages and currents without changing footprint, helping
organisations deploy more compact, reliable, and future-proof power
infrastructure.
Unmatched Power Density in
Minimal Space
Saf-D-Grid® delivers up to 7.2× the power of a
standard IEC C13/C14 connector within the same footprint. This means
more power delivery capability without consuming additional rack space — a
crucial advantage when space is at a premium.
Supports Both AC and DC
Architectures
Saf-D-Grid® is UL-rated for disconnect at up to 30 A and
400 V, and supports both AC and DC power systems (including 277 VAC
and 380 VDC). This versatility enables data centre designs that can take full
advantage of more efficient power distribution architectures without changing
connectors.
Advanced Safety and
Compliance
Unlike legacy IEC connectors, Saf-D-Grid® incorporates
multiple safety features critical to mission-critical environments:
- Touch-safe design on both the plug and
receptacle to reduce risk of accidental contact.
- Integrated latch to prevent unintended
disconnects during operation.
- Make-first / break-last
ground contact
for safer engagement sequence.
- Hot-plug capable interruption rating
for both capacitive and resistive loads.
These features go beyond conventional standards and help protect both personnel and equipment.
The Saf-D-Grid® connector represents a significant
advance over traditional IEC connectors for modern data centres. With its high
power density, support for both AC and DC power architectures, built-in safety
features, and robust operational range, Saf-D-Grid® enables higher performance
power delivery in the same valuable rack space — all while improving safety and
reliability.
