ORION is specially designed to maintain large amounts of data in a single rack. The base configuration offers space for up to 1,115 tapes and up to 3 LTO-FH drives. For higher performance requirements, a variant with 1,052 tape slots and 24 LTO-FH drives is available.

Depending on requirements, further configurations are possible – with more drives or additional tape slots. For even greater scalability, an S3 head can be flexibly integrated outside the rack. 

In combination with an S3 appliance, multiple systems can be connected to form a larger library with several thousand tape slots.
