Austin Williamson is Technical Director at Foreman Roberts and leads the firm’s Data Centre and Critical Infrastructure sector. With over 40 years in engineering, he has delivered and advised on more than 20 data centres, including hyperscale developments and supporting power infrastructures as well as complex upgrades to legacy facilities operating in live environments. Austin specialises in addressing the challenges of obsolescence, resilience, maintainability and rising power and cooling densities within existing infrastructure. He works closely with operators and asset owners to ensure legacy data centres remain technically and commercially viable in an AI-driven world. He is Chair of the CIBSE Data Centre Special Interest Group and a Fellow of CIBSE, committed to advancing sustainable and future-ready data centre engineering.
