Chris has expertise in code first data science methods, and particularly in the deployment and maintenance of data science products within health and care settings. Chris has written and presented extensively on the use of R to analyse and present data, and has particular interests in natural language processing, statistics and forecasting, and the development of reports and dashboards using R. Chris is a founding member of the NHS-R community and has been part of the leadership of NHS-R since its inception. Chris leads the data science team at the Strategy Unit, this team is responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of highly complex models in production. The team is also a resource used across the Strategy Unit to improve the robustness and transparency of analytic work using reproducible analytic pipelines and other data science methodologies.
