Daniel Heery
Director,
The Community Broadwork Network
Daniel Heery is one of the founders of Networks.coop and a UK ICT-infrastructure practitioner with 25+ years’ experience delivering community-owned networks and energy projects. Rooted in Alston—England’s first Social Enterprise Town—he has digital infrastructure deployments (fibre, 5G, datacentres), EV charging/V2G programmes, and town-centre heat-network options linked to ICT-enabled regeneration. His recent work focuses on sovereign data/compute strategies that keep value local, combining private-wire/PPAs, flexibility participation with DNOs and waste-heat recovery.
He brings a pragmatic rural lens: how to align data-sovereignty, heat re-use and compliance with overcoming grid constraints, while delivering wider community benefits. He will explain how social enterprise and revenue-stack models speeds up delivery and delivers more sustainability.
