Daniel Heery
Director,
The Community Broadwork Network
I build community-owned infrastructure in rural places. I’ve spent 25+ years creating co-operative models that deliver broadband, EV charging/V2X, and now heat networks and local energy. Current work includes local heat network options (using excess data-centre heat), community EV charging, and 4G/5G coverage for rural not-spots. As Vice Chair of the Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership, I support social enterprises with governance, funding readiness and delivery.
I am a member of the Electricity Northwest Distribution Services Operator Stakeholder Panel, following our work on rural electricity flexibility services and V2G. I bring delivery discipline and an understanding of what it takes to bring together stakeholders from different sectors, disciplines and backgrounds (herding cats) to deliver community-owned projects with a healthy dose of disruptive technology!
