Hannah Russell is Chief Executive at the British Science Association (BSA), an organisation dedicated to making science more relevant, representative and connected to society. The BSA carry out their work via public programmes (British Science Week and British Science Festival), policy influencing (as Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity & Inclusion in STEM), education (CREST Awards) and grant giving. Having originally trained as a science teacher, Hannah has over 15 years' experience of leading science education, engagement and professional development programmes. In addition to her current role, she has worked for organisations such as Wellcome, Biochemical Society and most recently as Chief Executive at the Association for Science Education.
