Ian is a building services engineer with 30 years of consultancy experience, having led the mission critical sector at a London based design consultancy until March 2024. He now serves as a Global Design and Engineering Standards SME at Digital Realty. Over the past 15 years, Ian has worked extensively in mission critical environments, developing broad, cross disciplinary expertise. His specialism lies in the design of resilient, high performance, and energy efficient data centre cooling solutions for colocation, large scale, and hyperscale operators. Ian’s current focus is on liquid to chip cooling and the strategies required to deploy these technologies effectively across both new builds and existing facilities.
