John Booth is a recognised leader in European data centre energy efficiency and sustainability. He is a reviewer for the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres (Energy Efficiency) and has worked extensively with the Certified Energy Efficient Data Centre Award (CEEDA), assessing facilities against EU best practices and EN 50600 standards. John chairs the Data Centre Alliance (DCA) Energy Efficiency Steering Group and sits on its Sustainability Steering Group, helping shape policy and wider industry engagement. He is Vice Chair of the BCS (Chartered Institute for IT) Green IT Specialist Group and Chair of BSI committee TCT 7/3, contributing to EN 50600 and ISO/IEC 30134 data centre KPI standards. He also serves on the Infrastructure Masons Sustainability Leadership Committee and was re-elected to the techUK Data Centre Council in January 2026. As Managing Director of Carbon3IT Ltd, John advises organisations on data centre standards, ISO management systems, energy management, and sustainability strategy. He recently supported the TIC Council in developing EU Taxonomy audit criteria.
