Dr. Michail Vamvakaris is the Head of Data Science and MLOps at William Hill (WH), leading data science strategy, applied machine learning initiatives, and production ML systems across the organisation. Prior to joining William Hill, he spent over two years at Bloomberg as a Senior ML Quant Engineer within the AI Engineering team, developing large-scale machine learning solutions for financial modelling and high-performance data environments. Michail has applied advanced ML and AI techniques across multiple sectors, including energy and utilities, cybersecurity, automotive, fintech, and asset management. He also previously served as an Honorary Researcher at Lancaster University, contributing to research at the intersection of finance and AI. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals and conferences.
