Miguel Rodrigues is a Data Engineering Manager at Trainline, based in London, where he leads the Data Platform organisation powering real-time, data-driven experiences across millions of customer journeys every day. Miguel has built and scaled high-performing data teams and platforms, including Trainline’s real-time ingestion and personalisation systems, handling over 400 million events and 17TB of data daily while supporting 100k+ requests per minute. His work spans large-scale streaming architectures, cost-efficient open-source platforms, and real-time personalisation use cases that directly impact revenue and customer experience. Miguel brings a strong academic foundation to his work, holding a Master’s degree in Informatics from the University of Lisbon, with published research in machine learning and natural language processing. He is very passionate about building resilient data platforms, scaling teams, and operating real-time systems under high growth and pressure.
