I’m a senior Cloud & Platform Engineering leader in UK financial services, leading Cloud Platform and CI/CD engineering in Nationwide Building society to build secure, scalable foundations that accelerate delivery. I’ve led cross-functional teams of 130-140 engineers and partnered with architecture, security, and delivery leaders to create enterprise landing zones, internal developer platforms, and automated CI/CD that improve developer experience and reliability at scale. My technical breadth spans AWS and Azure, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), serverless and microservices architectures, Terraform-based infrastructure as code, GitHub Actions, and modern observability (Elastic, Dynatrace). I’m passionate about DevSecOps and software supply-chain security—embedding SAST/SCA, SBOMs, policy-as-code, and change automation into paved roads that teams can adopt with minimal friction. I focus on measurable outcomes: cutting cloud onboarding time by ~70%, reducing deployment lead time from days to minutes, improving change success rates, and strengthening governance and auditability for 45+ product teams. I’ve also delivered FinOps-driven optimisation, reducing cloud costs by 25–35% while maintaining performance. Most recently, I’ve been exploring agentic SDLC practices—using AI responsibly to automate triage, testing, and release hygiene while keeping humans accountable through approvals, telemetry, and guardrails. I’m known for translating strategy into executable engineering programmes, mentoring leaders, and building high-performing teams that ship safely and continuously.
